White phosphorus is an indiscriminate killer that ignites once it is exposed to oxygen … It causes painful burn injuries to exposed human flesh.
It was first invented to be used to conceal movement from the visible and infrared spectrum (which it does very well). However, it also excels as a chemical warfare agent by burning anyone caught in its cloud to death without damaging any structures. However, it does leave a residue (since it’s more of a powder than a gas) so that if a person disturbs the air with that stuff around it can easily start killing people again.
