The Mighty U.S. warships off the coast of Lebanon.

I wonder why!

The US deployed the warship USS Cole and two support ships amid the country’s continuing political deadlock. But is it about the deadlock (in electing a President)?

So why now… timing is amazing. Does it have something to do with the Holocaust Israel just waged against the Palestinians? But how?

According to Aljazeera, Fouad Siniora, the Lebanese prime minister, has denied asking the US to deploy the warship USS Cole and two support ships amid the country’s continuing political deadlock.

Siniora reportedly summoned the US ambassador on Friday for an explanation. Siniora said: “We did not request any warships from any party.”

He also stressed the importance of Lebanon’s independence and sovereignty “so that it will not become an arena for the conflicts of regional and international powers”.

Siniora said there are no warships in Lebanese territorial waters, except Lebanon’s small navy – made up of patrol boats – and the 12 warships belonging to a UN peacekeeping force.

US position

According to Gordon Johndroe, a White House spokesman, Washington has had “regular consultations” with Siniora and other US allies in the region.

“There’s constant communications at various levels,” he said.

The US declined to say whether the decision to deploy the USS Cole was a show of force aimed at Syria, which it has accused of interfering in Lebanon.

Lebanon’s governing coalition and the Hezbollah-led opposition have failed to reach a deal over the election of a new president. A senior US official said Washington was “very concerned” about the situation in Lebanon and called the move “support for regional stability”.

“The United States believes a show of support is important for regional stability,” the official said.

So the US is concerned about the situation in Lebanon but not about the Holocaust in Gaza? 61 people have died on Saturday in Gaza.

At least 29 Palestinian civilians, including a baby, five children and three women were among those massacred by the Israeli IOF (Israeli Occupation Forces) Saturday. Health officials said about 200 people were wounded, 14 of them critically.

Gaza link

Nabih Berri, the parliament speaker, who is aligned with the opposition, has linked the deployment of the warships to Israel’s raids in the Gaza Strip.

“The target [of US warships] is Gaza. It is aimed to allow what must happen in Gaza to happen without anyone moving to support [the Palestinians],” he said. This is a real threat, not merely a muscle-flexing.”

Berri also said that the US military move was designed to focus attention on Lebanon “in order to cover up the massacres being committed in Gaza”.

“This [US] fleet comes to back Israel so that it can complete its plan,” he said. The “plan” being the Genocide Israel is conducting against Arab Palestinians.

I say the U.S. Warships are there for another reason: to prevent Hizbollah from using this opportunity to retaliate for Mughniyeh’s murder in Damascus, Syria and support the Palestinians in Gaza by opening a front in the Northern part of Israel.

  1. Darko says:

I think that the arrival of USS Cole has more to do with what happened in gaza then Lebanon. It’s a message to Hezbollah not to get involved like they did in 2006.
And it might be a bait, to get more involved

  2. Shahrzad says:

I have other idea. Now war is against Gaza, maybe they finish Hamas and bring Dahlan to Gaza. After, they start with lebanon. I think warships didnt go there just for threatening. They are there for a real war in the future soon.
We will have worse days in the future and beside Hizbullah, Iran will also be part of War.
